Over 50 years of craftsmanship

bika

Denmark, 1969, Ingrid Buytaert began to produce candles under the name bika. Known for their frosted surface and remarkable blooming nature, bika candles were well regarded across Belgium and the Netherlands.

In 2005, Ingrid's daughter, Inge-Lise, took over the production of bika candles. The company changed its name in ilyvero bika candles.

Maria Buytaert Kerzen

In the late 80s, Ingrids sister, Maria Buytaert, started producing a sister line of smooth surfaced candles in Germany.

In the summer of 2018, Maria took her well-deserved retirement, leaving the candle production in the capable hands of Inge-Lise.

ilyvero

Ever since the acquisition of Maria Buytaert, ilyvero bika candles has marketed two brands: bika and Maria Buytaert Kerzen.

Although both collections are produced using the same raw materials, have the same high quality standards in terms of performance when burned and feature candles that curl outwards like the petals of a flower, it is their appearance that sets them apart from each other. The bika Collection has a more rustic, frosted look and comes in softer, more earthy hues. The Maria Buytaert Collection, meanwhile, combines a smoother finish with intense primary colours.
