Mauve is definitely a ’romantic earth tone’. A soft pastel, with all the charm of a powdery blush because it is so heavily greyed, Mauve exudes a sense of calm and pairs nicely with Gravel or Pencil. It is slightly paler than Gravel but not as grey as Pencil.
Mauve has always been considered a little old-fashioned but has been experiencing a revival of late. Perhaps because it is such a natural colour?
